Syed A. K. Anwaruzzaman, a leading business personality of Bangladesh has diversified his business from the Garments & Accessories sector to the Construction Materials and Real Estate sector spreading over in home and abroad. Recently he has started Forestry and Agri Business on a vast area of land in Gazipur district to contribute to the national economy.

As a Chairman and CEO of the SM Group he has equity interest in SM Knitting Industries Ltd., SM Knitwears Ltd., SM Euro Fashions Ltd., SM Carton & Accessories Ltd., SM Aabashon Ltd., Marina Property (BD) Ltd., in Bangladesh, Dubai Steel Mfg. Co. Ltd., in Sudan, Siji Bldg. Materials Ltd., Abdullah Al Zaabi Bldg. Materials LLC, in Dubai, UAE, Marina Property (UK) Ltd., in UK and so on; some of which are under commissioning.

Mr. Anwaruzzaman, a highly successful entrepreneur in Trade and Industry was awarded CIP by the Ministry of Finance under the Government of Peoples’ Republic of Bangladesh for investing in US Dollar Investment Bond in the year 2008.

Apart from the above, SM Knitwears Ltd., a Garments factory under his able guidance won the “Best Workers’ friendly Knitwear Factory” in the year 2008 by BKMEA and Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of Peoples’ Republic of Bangladesh.
