Mr. Mohammad Rafiqul Islam has joined as Chief Executive Officer in RAK Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd.which has has started its journey as an organization with a vision to serve the humanity to fight back against the diseases by keeping the quality in heart within affordable prices.

Born in 1954, in a well‐known family of Gopalpur, Tangail, Mr. Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, completed his B. Sc. (Hons.) and M. Sc. from the Department of Zoology of University of Dhaka in 1974 & 1975 respectively. After completion of a bright educational life, he commenced his professional career as Medical Representative in Glaxo (BD).

After 3 years in Glaxo, he switched to Wyeth International (BD) as Area Manager and then joined The Acme Laboratories Ltd. as Area Manager. In Acme, his objective oriented activities, aided by his well‐practiced supervisory skills, visionary directions and dedication to profession has not only placed him as Director, Sales and Marketing but also ranked up the company into the 2nd position among the Pharmaceutical companies operating in Bangladesh in terms of Sales revenue. In addition, he was also leading the Veterinary and Herbal Division of the company as Director, Sales & Marketing in his tenure in Acme. He left the organization to join RAK Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. as Chief Executive Officer in August, 2010.

In his sparkling professional career of 32 years, he has attended many local and international conferences/Seminars/workshops and underwent various training courses. Among these, he had his vocational courses in Marketing Management from IBA, DU and in International Marketing from INSEAD, France.

As recognition of his talented performance and contribution to the industry, he has been declared as Best Business Personality in 2003 & 2004 (by The Financial Mirror), Best Marketing Manager in 2003 & 2005 (by Rapport Bangladesh & The Financial Mirror respectively) and Best Marketer in 2009 (by The Financial Mirror). He has also been honored being incorporated in the WHO's WHO (professional category) in 2001‐02 by the WHO's WHO Historical Society, Boston, USA.

Beside his professional career, he has been contributing his time, knowledge and wisdom to different Professional and Social Organizations. Among those, he has been the Founder President as well as the running President of Pharmaceutical Executive Club Limited – A top association of the senior Executives of Bangladesh, General Secretary of Federation of Biological & Chemical Societies of Bangladesh, Finance Secretary of Society of Pharmaceutical Professionals. He is an active Member of DIA (Drug Information Association, USA) since 2003. He also has been contributing as a resource person in many seminars/symposiums organized by various government and professional organizations of the country.
